The monks of Santa Croce lived an existence of prayer and manual labour, perfecting the arts of handworked book-binding, biblical calligraphy and leather gilding. The work of the Monks, together with Santa Croce's close proximity to the river Arno, made the Piazza the ideal location for the flourishing 15th-century leather tanneries.
Your Vespa will be shipped to you by FedEx in a custom built, wooden shipping container, via air, and arrive in days (not months like many of our competitors). The Vespa will be drained of all fluids, and you will need to replace them before operation (full instructions will be included).

Our Vespas are over 25 years of age and as such are usually exempt from most local emissions laws, etc. These are true vintage scooters, and while they are completely restored and shipped in full working condition, they are sold "as is" with no warranty. They are collectible items and while they are fully operational, they should not nor are they intended to be used for everyday transportation or heavy daily use.

Shipping varies from country to country and zone to zone, but you can expect fees of about €500 euro to have a Vespa shipped in the EU, and up to around €1,000 for shipping to the U.S. and Asia. We will inform you of the exact shipping fee before the Vespa is shipped.

You may also be required to pay certain duties to your local/state/federal government. These duties and or fees are the responsibility of the client. Again, in general, in the U.S., since the item is vintage the duty should not be more than 2% of the purchase price.

We are working on final details with FedEx and will have more information on this page as soon as possible.

Authentic Restoration and the fight against counterfeiting

At ITALIAN ALLURE a spirit of excellence permeates every restoration we undertake. Each Vintage Vespa is restored using only quality, certified, Vespa materials, and has been checked to the slightest detail to ensure that it upholds the tradition of craftsmanship and is faithful to the sensitivity and intentions of its creator.

Our Vespas are one of a kind restorations, each one is unique, and as collectible items they gain value with age.

Counterfeit restorations are obviously not treated with the same care nor can they provide the same excellence in craftsmanship and materials. And this isn't just a cosmetic issue - Vespas that are poorly restored can be extremely dangerous on the road! Unfortunately this is what many clients get when they buy Vintage Vespas from Vietnam and other Asian countries. But don't just take our word for it - here is some additional, independent information on the matter of counterfeit Vespas:

VESPA. A TRUE ITALIAN STORY

"A completely Italian product, such as we have not seen since the Roman chariot"

The Times (1946)

Florence, Tuscany. April 23rd, 1946.

Piaggio & Co. S.p.A. filed a patent with the Central Patents Office for inventions, models and brand names at the Italian Ministry of Industry and Commerce, for "a motorcycle with a rational complex of organs and elements with body combined with the mudguards and bonnet covering all the mechanical parts".

The scooter was the result of a visionary co-operation between Enrico Piaggio and the aeronautical engineer and inventor Corradino D'Ascanio (1891-1981).

It got its name from Enrico Piaggio himself who, looking at the first prototype with its wide central part where the rider sat and the narrow "waist", exclaimed, "It looks like a wasp!"

And so the Vespa (Wasp) was born.

We are the only Italian firm present in the Vintage Vespa market. We strongly believe that our competitors, with their inferior imitations, can't even be compared to the great product we provide our customers with.

We represent the real deal. We are currently the only on-line firm that supplies authentic, restored Italian Vintage Vespas (the others just pretend to do so!!)

We sell only authentic Italian born vehicles.

We provide our customers with all the documents (Italian Minister of Trasportation) that certify the Italian originality of their vehicle.

We don't deal with Asian imitations. We let the other websites do so.

Our master craftsmen (we call our mechanics so) will restore your vintage Vespa using all their knowledge & craftmanshio to maintain the beauty and essence of the vehicle.

Our Vespas, being 100% authentic, gain value as the age. The disenchanted Vietnamese imitations don't.

For those customers interested we are very much pleased to enroll their Vintage Vespa within the "Registro Storico Italiano" (Italian Historical Register of Vintage vehicles). Only original and superbly restored vehicles might enter such Register.

We ship all over the world: It takes only 3-4 working days for in stock Vespas. Other suppliers take 2-3 months!!!

We are exporting a true Italian icon, the essence of Italian beauty. Our competitors are not.
